Dayton, OH – Sheila Taylor Dalton, 52, of Pensocola Blvd. Passed away
Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Kendrid Hospital in Dayton after a short illness. She
was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Born in Middletown, Ohio on March
31, 1956, she was the daughter of Leo and Lucy Marshall Taylor. She is survived by her
husband, Tony Dalton of Dayton; two sons, Adam Dalton of Miami Township, Ohio and Jeremy
Dalton of West Carrolton, Ohio, her parents, Leo and Lucy Taylor and a brother, Randall
L. Taylor, all of Booneville, Kentucky. Visitation held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on
Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Funeral services held at
the funeral home on Monday, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Reezes officiating. Burial in
the Hensley Cemetery with Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Daniel, Roscoe
Richmond, KY – Roscoe Daniel, 86, of Brassfield Road, Richmond, passed
away early Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008. Mr. Daniel was born on March 5, 1922, in
Owsley County, the son of the late Irvine and Lottie Gay Daniel. He was a farmer
and retired postmaster at Mistletoe, Kentucky, a U. S. Veteran of WW II, having served
in General Patton’s 3rd Army, and attended Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include
three sons, Roscoe Mitchell Daniel, Jr. (Susan), Irvin Daniel (Gwyn) and Marvin Daniel
(Tammy); three daughters, Charlene Daniel Graham (Billy), Phyllis Daniel Bowman and
Linda Daniel Taylor (Greg) and their mother, Josephine Daniel; one brother, Preston
Jennings Daniel; one sister, Mayme Henderson; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
three children, Jennings Clay Daniel, Rachael Daniel and Joseph Daniel. Funeral
services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Combs, Parson &
Collins Funeral Home, Richmond, KY with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Burial in
the Allen Cemetery in Clay County, Kentucky with Combs, Parson and Collins Funeral
Home, Richmond, Kentucky, in charge of arrangements. Visitation was held from 5-9

Davidson, Frank
Booneville, KY – Frank Davidson, 79, of Judd Road, passed away Wednesday,
September 20, 2006, at his residence in Booneville. Frank was born August 25, 1927, in
Clay County, Kentucky, to the late Dennis and Liza Baker Davidson. He was a retired
employee for Stacy’s Moving and Storage in Cincinnati, OH, and was a U. S. Army veteran.
Survivors include three sons, Carl (& Patricia) Davidson of Cincinnati, OH, Tony
(& Patricia Jo) Davidson and Todd Davidson, both of Booneville, KY; two daughters,
Wilma (& Michael) Collins and James Davidson, both of Cincinnati, OH; 18 grandchildren;
and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Flora Bryant of Cincinnati,
OH; and a host of relatives and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in
death by a son, Rick Davidson; his stepmother, Ameila Davidson; a brother, Herbert
Davidson; and several stepbrothers. Funeral services were held Friday, September 22,
2006, at 11:00 a.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Smithers

Booneville, KY – Corina Ann Day, 26, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006,
at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Corina was born August
25, 1980 in Manchester, KY, to Danny Day and Donna Osborne, both of Booneville, KY, and
she was a homemaker. Along with her parents, she is survived by a son, Daniel Wayne
Pruitt of Paris, KY; two sisters, Tommie Lynn Wilson of Booneville, KY and Nancy Kay
Damrell of Berea, KY; and a host of relatives and friends. Besides her grandparents,
Florence and Albert Day and Raymond and Nancy Osborne, she was preceded in death by a
sister, Bobbie Jo Day. Funeral services were held Monday, September 4, 2006, at 4:00
p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Charlton officiating. Visitation

Booneville, KY - Dorothy Mae Dooley Dean, 74, widow of Sam Dean, passed
away Saturday, April 16, 2005 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born June 4, 1930 in First Creek, Kentucky (Perry Co.), to the late William
Goebel and Tressie Combs Dooley. She was a homemaker, attended the Scoville Church of
God, and a member of the Susan Chapter Order of the Eastern Star # 106. She is
survived by three sons, Ken (& Carol), Art (& Jo Ann) and D. G. Dean, all of Booneville,
Kentucky; two daughters, Marlene (& Jackie) Baker of Booneville, Kentucky and Darlene
(& John Henry) Coomer of Beattyville, Kentucky; a brother, Johnny (& Sue) Dooley of
Booneville, Kentucky; two sisters, Glenna Faye (& Richard) Wilson of Panama City,
Florida and Marie (& Harvey) Phillips of Booneville, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 11
great grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with her parents, and
her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Funeral services

Dean, Reba Byrd
Booneville, KY - Reba Dean, 54, formerly of Teges,(Clay Co.), born February
21, 1962, died November 8, 2006. She is survived by husband, Ledford Dean, Jr. of
thirty-four years; a son, Jeremy Ryan Dean and wife, Glenda; three grand children, Jonah,
Eli, Lillie Beth and Allie Grace; her mother, Ethel Ball Byrd; sisters, Cleda Chesnut,
Sextons Creek and Irene Burns, Manchester; five brothers, Lenzie Byrd, South Lebanon,
Ohio, Glenn Byrd, Dale Byrd, Donnie Ray Byrd and Rex Byrd, all of Teges; and many nieces
and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde
"Dude" Byrd; two sisters, and a brother. Reba worked for the Owsley County Home Health
for 27 years, from which she had been retired for five years. Reba was a faithful life
long member of church. She spent time working for God sowing seeds of Love and Kindness
in her daily life. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m.,
Sunday, November 12 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel in Manchester, KY with Robert

Dean, Tommie Lee Helen
Warsaw, KY – Tommie Lee Dean, 83, widow of Thomas Ray Dean, Gallatin Co.
Health Care Center, passed away on May 26, 2007, after a long illness. She was formerly
of Booneville, KY. She was a member of the Lerose Baptist Church and a retired legal
secretary. Born on July 30, 1923 in Louin, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the
late William Edward and Annie Waldrup Hellen. She is survived by a son, Dennis (& Dawn)
Dean of Cleveland, Texas and a daughter, Sharon (& Eddie) Caldwell of Crittenden, KY;
four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She is
also survived by a sister, Rachett (Rachell?) Perkins of DeQuincey, Louisiana. Her
husband Thomas Ray Dean, preceded her in death on August 14, 2000. Visitation was held
from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.

Richmond, KY - Bertha Mayes DeJarnette, 73, of Evansdale Avenue, Richmond,
died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at her home. She was born on Jan. 17, 1931, in Owsley County;
the daughter of the late Calvin and Dora Campbell Mayes. She was a homemaker and a
member of the Holiness Church. Ms. DeJarnette was the widow of Travis DeJarnette; and
was preceded in death by four brothers, Harlan Mayes, Roy Mayes, Willie Mayes, and Ed
Mayes; and one sister, Laura Angel. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth DeJarnette;
and Beulah Whitaker (Ray), both of Richmond; two brothers, Ralph Mayes, of Dreyfus, and
Frank Mayes, of Richmond; one sister, Nellie Reynolds, of Irvine; one grandchild,
Chelsie Whitaker. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Combs,
Parsons and Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Roy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow

Deaton, Wilson Jr.
Beattyville, KY – Wilson Deaton, Jr. 81, of 222 E. Center St., passed away
at the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center, Richmond, KY on Sunday, February 18, 2007.
Born in Owsley County, KY on July 25, 1925, he was the son of the late David and Martha
Sizemore Deaton. He was retired from the KY Department of Transportation and a former
ambulance driver for Buckhorn and Lee County Ambulance Service. He was a member of the
Beattyville Baptist Church. Mr. Deaton is survived by a daughter, Martha Rose Dunaway
of Beattyville, KY and a son, Bill D. (& Judy) Deaton of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren;
and 13 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Lucille Wilson Deaton; his parents; three sisters; and a grandson.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the

Booneville, KY - Chelsea Nicole-Marie Dooley, 15, passed away Saturday,
January 13, 2007, at her residence. Chelsea was born in Ventura, CA, on June 7, 1991,
to Gary Dooley of Booneville, KY and Susan Lynn Marshall Dooley Wilds, of East Belle
Haven, VA. She was a student at Owsley County High School, had a love for writing
poetry, and enjoyed birds and horses. Along with her parents, she is survived by two
brothers, Phillip Dooley of East Bell Haven, VA and Matthew Dooley of Booneville, Ky;
and a host relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 18,
2007, at 11:00 a.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home , with the Rev. Jamison Brunk

Booneville, KY - Ollie Ragon Dooley, 83, of Route 2, husband of Violet
Mainous Dooley, passed away Friday, August 4, 2006, at the Owsley County Health Care
Center, after a long illness. He was born on May 17, 1923, in Owsley County, to the
late William and Nell Jackson Dooley. He was a member of the Booneville First Baptist
Church, a Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Masonic Lodge 939, the OES 446,
and was retired from operating a service station for many years. Besides his wife,
Violet of Booneville, Kentucky, he is survived by a son, Jim (& Carolyn) Dooley of
Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Pam Dooley of Stanton, Kentucky; a grandson, James
Dooley of Davenport, Florida; a great granddaughter, Emma Katelyn Dooley also of
Davenport, Florida; a sister, Elora Stewart of Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, C. J.
Dooley, Beattyville, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August
7, 2006, at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lacefield officiating.
Visitation was held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening, August 6th at the funeral

Duff, McKinley
CONNERSVILLE, Ind. -- McKinley Duff, age 93 of McGuire Ridge Road in
Franklin County passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, at Lincoln Center West where he had
been a patient for a brief time. He was born January 8, 1915, in Owsley County, Kentucky,
the son of Claude and Nellie Edwards Duff. He had resided in the Connersville area since
1945. He had been employed for many years at National Metal and also farmed for many years.
He is survived by three sons, David and Judy Duff of Connersville, Bill Duff and Sue of
Connersville and Larry and Connie Duff of Mims, Florida; one daughter, Frances and Elman
Metcalf of Mims, Florida; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers,
Earl and Shirley Duff of Dayton, Ohio, and Cecil and Lee Duff of Hamilton, Ohio; two
sisters, Lois Marshall of Booneville, Kentucky, and Nadine and Bill Burke of McGregor,
Texas; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Esther Amis Duff, to whom he was married in 1935. She passed away in 1993.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Ralph Duff. Funeral services
were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home with Rev.
Randall Collins of Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove
Cemetery in Brookville.
Dunaway, Glona Jane Margraves
Glona Jane Dunaway, age 92, departed this life on Saturday,
June 10, 2006, at the home of her daughter in Broadhead, Ky. She was born on May
23, 1914 in Owsley County Kentucky, the daughter of Zach and Minnie Strong Margraves.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Beattyville Baptist Church. Glona was preceded
in death by her husband, Winfred Dunaway and three sons: Winfred, Jr., Fred and Luther.
She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren: Timothy, Jennifer and Michael.
Glona is survived by two daughters, Helen (James) Barker of Bristol, Indiana and Linda
(Coy) Taylor of Brodhead, Kentucky. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 35
Great-Grandchildren and 13 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by one
sister, Edna Callie Phillips of Vandalia, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews,
including Betty Lou Hacker of Beattyville. She is also survived by a great many
friends who mourn her passing. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 13 from 6:00 to 9:00
PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 14, 2006 with Dr. Dennis L.
Brewer, Pastor of Unity Baptist Church of Richmond and former pastor of Beattyville
Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Beattyville.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Newnam Funeral Home is in charge of the service.

Booneville, KY – Wanda Fay Couch Duncan, 57, of Erlanger, KY, passed away
Thursday, September 7, 2006, at her residence. She was born in Lee County, KY, on May
5, 1949, to the late Levi and Ester Million Couch. She was a homemaker and a waitress
for Frischs Restaurant. Survivors include two sons, Frank Montgomery of Corinth, KY and
Benjamin Montgomery of Ludlow, KY; a daughter, Kim Faehr of Covington, KY; 10
grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Couch of Lucky Fork, KY; three sisters, Betty Bolin of
Loveland, OH, Ruby Hall of Crittenden, KY and Dorothy Couch of Erlanger, KY; and a host
of friends and relatives. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister,
Geneva Couch. Funeral services on Monday, September 11, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., at the
Faith Hill Community Center, Lucky Fork, KY, with Rev. J. Jamison Brunk officiating.
