Gabbard, James Willis "Will"

James Willis Gabbard ("Will"), age 74 of Erlanger, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Will was a loving husband to his wife of 52 years, Kathie Gabbard, loving father to their son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Mikl Gabbard, and the proudest anyone could be of his two grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Gabbard. He was brother and frequent practical jokester to his sisters Mildred Fox and Bernice Stanton, brother to Daymond Gabbard, who recently preceded him in death, and brother to Avondale Gabbard, who also preceded him in death. Although Will rarely ever used a cell phone and had never sent a text message or social media post during his lifetime, everyone he knew would agree you could not have met a more social person. Will had a strong work ethic that often led to offers for better job positions, usually sitting in an office behind a desk. Those were offers he turned down, because Will was happiest standing behind a counter during his years as a meat cutter for A&P Foods and Horlein Meats or driving a route around town in a truck while working for Lynch Foods and Brinks Security because he loved the opportunity each and every day to meet and joke around with new people as he came to know, not only them, but their families and life stories as well. All who knew him will dearly miss him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 4-7 PM at Stith Funeral Homes, Florence. Funeral services will be Monday, September 26 at 11 AM at Latonia Full Gospel Pentecostal Church 4419 Decoursey Ave. Latonia, KY 41015. www.stithfuneralhomes.com 09/23/2016.
