Billy Charles Jackson, 72, of Lexington, husband of Sue (Bowman) Jackson, peacefully passed away, Sat, June 23, 2007. He was born Sept 27, 1934, in Pebworth, KY, to the late Carlo and Nettie Jackson. Along with his wife of 38 years, he is survived by 2 sons, Billy Dale Jackson of Indianapolis, IN, and Steve (Beth) Brockman of Lexington; 1 daughter, Lori (Mark) Decker of Philmont, NY; 8 grandchildren, Billy and Samantha Jackson, Josh, Ashley, Lauren, and Abby Brockman, Nick and Riley Decker; and 1 great grandson, Brayden Jackson. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Dixie Miller and Loretta (Clyde) Ramey both of Lexington; sisters-in-law, Ruby Jackson of Pebworth, KY, and Yvonne Jackson of Nicholasville, KY; many loving nephews & nieces, and his little buddy Jake. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Irvine, Earl Glen, and James Donald Jackson, and 2 sisters, Maxine Tirey and Lois Frost. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, a Master Plumber, HVAC/Boiler Inspector, and Journeyman Electrician by trade. Bill was a loving husband, father, & grandfather who enjoyed quiet time with his family. His blue eyes and grin will never be forgotten. Booneville, KY – Margaret “Mimi” Jackson, age 95, passed away Friday, April 15, 2008 at the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, Kentucky. Formerly of Cow Creek and Booneville, she was born on April 5, 1913, in Owsley County, KY to the late Stephen A. and Flora (Seale) Gabbard. Margaret was a retired school teacher for the Owsley County School System and a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the First Presbyterian Church in Booneville, KY. Mrs. Jackson is survived by a son, Jimmy (& Teresa) McIntosh of Lawrenceburg, KY, a daughter, Margaret Sue Gabbard of Ricetown, KY; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren; a great, great granddaughter; and a host of friends and relatives. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Henderson McIntosh and Eugene Jackson; a son, Bill McIntosh; a daughter, Laura Elizabeth McIntosh; three sisters and a brother. Funeral services held on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Booneville – Nettie B. Stepp Jackson, 100, widow of Carlo Jackson, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006, at her daughter’s residence in Lexington, KY. Mrs. Jackson was born November 26, 1905, in Lerose, KY, to the late Joseph and Emmer Smith Stepp. She was a homemaker, formerly active in the Owsley County Senior Citizens Program, the Saddle Club, a member of the Eastern Star, and had attended the Church on the Farm. She is survived by one son, Bill and Sue Jackson, of Lexington, KY; 2 daughters, Loretta and Clyde Ramey and Dixie Miller, both of Lexington, KY; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 10 great, great, grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was a cook for the Light House Restaurant and attended the Body of Christ Holiness Church. Vivian enjoyed her family and being a homemaker. Jessie (Byrd) Jacobs, age 88 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born March 23, 1927 in Clay County, Kentucky, Jessie was the daughter of Roy and Gertie (Allen) Byrd. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 54 years Vance Jacobs, Jr. and siblings Lillie Mae Parker, Lida (Nathan) Taulbee, Jerry Byrd, Goldie (Bill) Byrd and Carl Byrd. Jessie leaves behind brother Elvis Byrd; sister -in-laws Shirley Byrd and Pat Byrd and brother-in-law Bill Parker; three children Cindy (Jack) Mathis of Morrow, Ohio, Vickie (Ronnie) Combs of Morrow, Ohio and Mark Jacobs of South Lebanon, Ohio. Jessie was a wonderful "Nannie" to her six grandchildren - Joi Mathis, Brandi Mathis, Amy (Tony) Ledford, Mindy (Chad) Schmidt, Ryan Combs and Josh (Erika) Sly. Jessie cherished her great-grandchildren Jimmy Mathis, Jessie Bishop, Jacob Mathis, Bella Ledford and Charlie Vance Schmidt whom she loved with all her heart. Jessie was a dedicated member of the Mt. Estella Marshall Jennings of Franklin, OH passed away Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at Middletown Hospital in Middletown, OH. She was born in October 31st, 1935 in Booneville, Owsley County, KY, was the daughter of Columbus Marshall and Mattie Thomas Marshall. She worked as a waitress at the Meadows and Manchester Hotel in Middletown. She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Leo) Garrett of Franklin, one granddaughter, two great grandsons, two great, great grandsons, two sisters; Gail and Louise, two brothers; Bernie and Bige or AB. She was preceded in death by her husband Chick Jennings, her parents, nine sisters; Opel, Eva, Elva, Hester, Madge, Lois, Shirley, Rody Bell and Elizabeth Ann, and one brother, Harlen. Charles Beech Jewell, husband of Bettie Wilson Jewell of Booneville, Kentucky and the son of the late Mackey and Rosie Holland Jewell was born in Hazard, Kentucky on May 29, 1926 and departed this Hazard, Kentucky on December 9, 2015 at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 13 days. In addition to his wife, Mr. Jewell is survived by one brother, Paul Jewell of Barbourville, Kentucky; two sisters, Irene Jewell of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jean Parson of Ohio; four children from a previous marriage; and one nephew, Billy Jewell of Wolfe County, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one step son, Robert Osbourne. Booneville – Harlan Eugene Jewell, age 62, Booneville, KY passed away July 22, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of the Booneville First Baptist Church and a Peace Time Veteran of the Navy. He was a Maintenace by occupation. Harlan was the son of James Orville Jewell and Imogene and leaves surviving his wife Margaret Myers Jewell of Booneville. Two daughters survive, Pamela Sue Jewell and Helen Jean Jewell of Arizona. Two stepchildren survive, Levan (Kathy) White of Booneville, KY and Ricy (Sue) White of Beattyville, KY. He leaves surviving 6 brothers and 1 sister – John (Brenda) Jesell, S. Shore, KY; Charles (Grace) Jewell, Ohio; George (Jannie) Jewell, Ohio; Delbert (Barbara) Jewell, Ohio; Jerry (Kathy) Jewell, Pikeville, KY and Arthur Jewell, Ohio; sister Betty (Ellis) Potter. Gary Lee Jodrey, age 78 of Hanover Indiana, passed away at his home on Monday , March 6th 2017. He was a quality assurance engineer in the nuclear power industry for 40 years and he served the industry well through his unwavering code of ethics and standards. He had many passions, woodworking, music, and reading. He was an expert on many subject matters and enjoyed sharing his views and educating others. The world was a better place with him in it and his family will miss him for eternity. He was born February 9, 1939, in Cincinnati Ohio, the eldest child of James and Inez (Shiveley) Jodrey. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. He graduated from Russellville, Ohio in 1957. He served in the Army from June 1957 to May 1959. He is survived by his wife Wilma, sister Joyce(Fred) Schneider, brother Glen(Dawn) and six children, Yvonne Dishon, Debbie Bissantz, Sharon (Brent) Highlander, Janine (Rob) Gerke, Allan(Tina) Scott, and Pam Griffin, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Christine Johnson, age 62, passed away on June 21st, 2014 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY following a battle with cancer. She was born on September 3rd, 1951 in Oneida, KY, was the daughter of the late Joseph Jr. and Ruby Riley Combs, was the wife of Cecil Johnson, was a homemaker and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Christine is survived by her husband: Mr. Cecil Johnson of Ricetown, KY, one son: Mr. Tommy Murrell and wife Alice of Booneville, KY, three grandchildren: Mrs. Ashley Barrett and husband Travis, Mr. Timmy Murrell and Mr. Travis Murrell and wife Christy all of Booneville, KY and three step grandchildren, Ms. Ashley Barnett, Mr. Tyler Williams and Ms. Angie Williams, three great grandchildren: Dylan Barrett and Aden and Abby Barnett. Also surviving is two sisters: Mrs. Geraldine Bowling and husband Wilburn of Ricetown, KY and Mrs. Debra Turner and husband Bradley of Booneville, KY and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Booneville- Darrell Eugene Johnson, age 53, husband of Rhonda Johnson, passed away July 6, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Darrell was born December 14, 1961 in Lima, Ohio, a son to the late Garland Wilson Johnson and Ethel Marie Roberts. Darrell was a member of the Spencer Fork Community Church and was a mechanic at the Owsley County garage until he retired in 1994. He also loved restoring Antique cars. He was retired from CSX Railroad, a member of the Proctor Masonic Lodge, a proud member of the U.S. Army serving his Country during the Viet Nam conflict, and attended the Nazarene Church in Beattyville. She was a teacher for 27 years, a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond, KY, the Homemakers Club, and enjoyed bingo, quilting, and cooking. She was described as very loving and giving. She is survived by 2 sisters; Dixie (Loron) Baker of Morrow, OH, and Lily (J.E.) Golff of Versailles, KY, 6 nieces and nephews; Kathy Blackburn, Lisa Post, Ty Baker, Mark Lewis, Elizabeth Lewis, and Stephanie Golff, and many other loving family members and friends. Joe Douglas Johnson, age 60, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home after a brief illness. He was born July 1, 1952, at Booneville, Kentucky, in Owsley County, a son of the late Bedford and Crystal McIntosh Johnson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Trent. McKee, KY – Johnny R. Johnson was born on June 29, 1942, in Jackson County, KY and departed this life on February 7, 2007, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY, at the age of 64. He was the son of the late Oscar and Dovie Sparks Johnson. He is survived by two children, Travis Johnson of Booneville, KY and Tonya Johnson of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Leo Johnson of South Carolina, James Johnson of North Carolina, Carl Tincher of Richmond, KY, Cora Tincher of South Carolina and Rita Hutchison of Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lee County, and we feel our loss is truly Heaven’s gain. RICHMOND – Virgil Johnson, 81, of Hoover Lane, passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2006, at his home. Born in Owsley County, Kentucky, on January 19, 1925, he was the son of the late George and Nellie Anderson Johnson. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Union City Baptist Church. Until his health failed, Mr. Johnson was a regular fixture on the roads around Union City, where he enjoyed picking up cans and meeting friends along the way. He is survived by: his wife, Effie Mae Willis Johnson; two sons, Jimmie Cecil Johnson of Madison County and Virgil Johnson, Jr. and his wife Christine of Versailles; one daughter, Betty Lou Brandenburg and her husband David of Madison County; four grandchildren, Todd Aaron Brandenburg of Louisville, Alan Scott Brandenburg, serving in the U. S. Navy, and Paige Nicole Johnson and Andrea Michelle Johnson, both of Versailles; one brother, Hubert Johnson of Estill County; two sisters, Clare Crowe and Edna Rucker and her husband, John Noland Rucker, all of Estill County. Jones, Fannie Jo

Fannie Jo Pierson Jones was born on December 23, 1928 in Owsley County, KY and departed this life on May 26, 2013 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, KY, being 84 years of age. She was married to the late William "Bill" Jones on October 12, 1949. The two shared a loving marriage of 54 years prior to his death on March 15, 2004. Jo was a retired school teacher as well as a retired state employee from the Dept of Social Ins. Through these careers she met and touched the lives of numerous individuals, many of which still remember the role she played in their life today. She was a devout Christian and a dedicated member of the Tyner Baptist Church where she worked for the Lord for more than 25 years. She was also a member of the local chapter of Eastern Star. She is survived by her son, Roger Jones and his wife Dharma of Paoli, IN; four grandchildren, Brandy Baldwin and her husband William, William Jones and his wife Melissa, Jesse Jones all of Tyner and Joshua Jones of Paoli, IN; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Sara and Jacob Jones and Nicholas and Sydney Baldwin; three sisters, Jane Hamilton of Lexington, Lula Hallet and Carol Hornsby of Ohio; two brothers, Charles Pierson of Mt. Sterling and Wendell Pierson also of Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and cherished friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Farris and Zella Green Pierson; one sister, Linda Lynch and one brother, Omar Pierson. Jo was a friend and a blessing to all those who knew her. She was a nurturing mother and grandmother. No words could describe how precious she truly was to her family. She had a way of making you feel as though you were the most special person in the world, capable of doing anything as long as you set your mind to it. No matter if you were 5 or 35, you were still her child. She will never be forgotten, nor can she be replaced. She will be greatly missed by all, however, we do find comfort in knowing that she is now in the loving arms of our Savior. Mrs. Mary Helen Jones of Corinth, KY. passed away Saturday, December 24 at the Grant Center Nursing Home in Williamstown, KY. at the age of 84. Mrs. Jones was born February 11, 1932 in Owsley County, KY. to the late Sam and Liza Farley. Mrs. Jones retired after many years of factory work in Lexington, KY. Prior to that she worked at the former MacGregor factory in Corinth and continued with them when it moved to Williamstown. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and she also enjoyed visiting other churches in the area. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband: J. L. Jones, by 2 daughters: Lynda Cook in 1991, Shirley Wright in 2013, by a son: James Jones in 2014 and she was preceded in death by her siblings. Mrs. Jones is survived by a son: Jerry G. Wright and his wife Shelby of Sadieville, KY., 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Thomas D. "Tommy" Judd age 62 of Lebanon, Ohio passed unexpectedly Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his residence. Born June 1, 1953 in Kettering, Ohio, Tommy was the son of Carl {*son of Sam & Bertha Mays Judd} and Modena (Powell) Judd and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Ohio. Tommy was a 1971 graduate of Lebanon High School and was a retired supervisor with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Tommy enjoyed fishing, camping, golf, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.
