Albert was born in Hazard, Perry County, KY on April 18, 1955, a son of the late Lawrence and Ida (Abner) Napier. He was a former Mine Safety Analyst for the ICG Coal Company, served in both the U.S. Army and Kentucky National Guard, and a member of the East Side Church of Christ in Booneville, KY. Debra was born on September 6, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of Evelyn Callahan Begley and the late Isaac Banks. She was a member of the Ida May Baptist Church. Stella Baker Neace, 91, widow of James Clell Neace died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Neace was born June 22, 1914 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. She was a school teacher in the elementary graded in Kentucky, Ohio and Baltimore County Maryland. She attended Witherspoon College High School. She was a graduate of Lees Jr. College and the University of Maryland. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Buckhorn, KY. Lola Loretta Neal, age 79 of Hamilton, passed away at McCullough-Hyde Hospital on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 6:10 PM. She was born in Booneville, Kentucky on July 19, 1936 the daughter of Thomas H. and Bertha (Campbell) Peters. On March 17, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana she married Harold B. Neal. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Harold B. Neal of Hamilton; three children, Debbie (David) Imhoff of Hamilton, Thomas W. (Karen) Neal of Somerville, Michael D. (Angie) Neal of Hamilton; four siblings, Don Peters of Columbus, Virginia (Garnie Jr.) Walters of Irvine, Kentucky, Wayne (Elaine) Peters of Columbus, and Mary (Kenny) Campbell of Beattyville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Danielle (Mike) Smith, Jaclyn (David) Ludwick, Zachary (Jenny) Imhoff, Christopher Neal, Kimberly Neal, Kenneth Neal, Miranda Goins, Brandon Neal, and Lylah Neal; six great grandchildren, Grace, Courtney, Hallie, Kara, Mathew, and Reese; and numerous other relatives and friends. Piney was born in the Wolf Creek community of Owsley County, Kentucky on April 5, 1947, a daughter of the late Fred and Nancy (Hensley) Taylor. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, shopping at yard sales, as well as taking care of her animals. Middletown, OH – Troy Neeley, 80, passed away December 20, 2008 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1928, in Owsley County, KY and lived in Middletown since 1952. He was employed as a truck/two motor operator for Middletown Paperboard for 42 years. He was also employed as a security guard on weekends at Woodside Cemetery for 25 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac & Hattie Bowman Neeley, his first wife, Jean Caudill Neeley in 1957, a brother, Isaac Neeley, Jr. and two sisters, Thelma Heath of Seymour, Indiana and Marie Geckler of Hamilton, Ohio. Troy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sue Neeley, two sons, Darrell William Neeley of Middletown and Gary Lewis of Cookville, Tennessee; three daughters, Lynn Turner of Hazel Green, KY, Marty Rock of Hamilton, Ohio and Linda Sue Lewis of Middletown, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Reed of Middletown, Ohio and Mary Ann Moore of Stanton, KY; and many nieces and nephews. Newman, Clarence E.

Booneville, KY – Clarence Edward Newman, age 104, widower of Mae Coomer Newman, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at the Lee County Rehab Center where he had been residing for the last four years. He was born in Owsley County, KY, on September 15, 1902, to the late Millard and Susie Newman. He was a former employee of the W. C. Synder Company, a farmer, and a member of the New Hope Masonic Lodge # 574. Clarence was a great man who loved the Lord, and had been a very active member at the Warren’s Chapel Methodist Church in Vincent, KY, where he led the singing and taught. When asked to sing in his later years, he would always sing, “O Happy Day”. He is survived by three sons, Larry Newman of Vincent, KY, Hurshel Newman of Booneville, KY and Charles (& Betty) Newman of Beattyville, KY; three daughters, Wilma L. Newman and Florine N. Burke, both of Lexington, KY, and Bethel (& Dave) Tincher of Punta Gorda, FL; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, James Harold, Darwin and Elvoyde Newman, two daughters, Phyllis Sterling and Carol Lusk; a granddaughter, Tara Burke; and a brother, Dorsie Newman. Newman, Herman Lee

Herman Lee Newman, 91, also known as "Keeneye", a lifetime South Lebanon resident, died Sunday, February 5, 2017. Born August 6, 1925 in South Lebanon to Dorsie and Lillie (nee: Sargeant) Newman, he was a proud US Army veteran. Herman enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. A heavy equipment operator for 41 years, he retired from J L Clark construction in 1987. He, also, worked part time for Carl Oeder and Sons. You could often find Herman volunteering at the local food pantry. For 24 years he built and sold storage barns. He served the South Lebanon area as an assistant fire chief for the Union Township/South Lebanon fire department. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Garnet (nee: Tucker) Newman, one brother, Gerald Newman, three sisters, Marie Huddleson, Bernice Gosney, and Bonnie Sheese, and a great granddaughter, Shea Fadden. Survivors include two sons, Terry Newman of Ft Myers, FL and Kenny Newman of South Lebanon, one daughter, Janice (Pete Barrett) Busald of South Lebanon, one sister, Betty Todd of South Lebanon, six grandchildren, Tracy (Daniel) Mills, Michelle (Brandon) Bishop, April (Randy) Hanifen, Lisa (Jamie) Moseley, Christina Newman, and Rachel (John) Fadden, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, with a service immediately following at 12:00PM noon. Newman, Thomas Charles

Thomas Charles Newman, husband of Betty Lou Anderson Newman and the son of the late Clarence and Mae Coomer Newman was born in Vincent, Kentucky on April 26, 1925 and departed this life on October 14, 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 89 years, 5 months, and 18 days. He was a respected World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific. Thomas took pride in being a University of Kentucky Basketball fan and shared his love for the outdoors and hunting by hunting with “the boys.” He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. Along with his wife, Thomas leaves behind his two sons, Bobby Newman and wife Margie and Bruce Newman and wife Mia; four grandchildren, Michelle, Keith, Jessica, and Brandon Elliott; six great-grandchildren, Carrie Ann, Kelsei, Cody, Kyle, Wesley, and Wyatt; two great great-grandchildren, Royal and Leigha; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Bertha was born May 10, 1921 in Guerrant, KY, a daughter to the late Arthur Johnson Sr. and Eliza (Combs) Johnson. She was a teacher, retiring from the Owsley County School System. Bertha was a member of Shoulder Blade Baptist Church, The Owsley County Historical Society, Eastern Stars Chapter 939, along with her husband Granville, co-founder of the Pioneer Village and was an dedicated genealogist. Bertha is survived by 2 sisters; Flossie Combs of Jackson, KY and Inza Johnson of Clarksville, OH, many nieces and nephews and a host of family members and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Bertha was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Evalee Johnson, Anna Myrtle Johnson and Beulah Eades, 3 brothers; Hiram C. Johnson, Edward B. Johnson and French C. Ricetown, KY – Betty Sue Roberts Noble, 41, of Owsley County, Kentucky, wife of James Noble, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005, at her residence. She was born on March 2, 1963, in Clay County, to Bertha Bennett Roberts and the late Elmer Roberts. She was a CNA for the Owsley County Health Care Center and attended the Indian Creek Presbyterian Church. Along with her husband of 17 years, she is survived by three sons, Patrick and Elmer Dale Chandler, and Christopher Roberts, all of Ricetown, Kentucky; two daughters, Rebecca Ohmer of Corbin, Kentucky and Jessica Noble of Ricetown, Kentucky; and two grandchildren. Other survivors are three brothers, William Earl Roberts, Booneville, Kentucky, Jimmy Roberts of Largo, Florida and Fred Roberts of Ricetown, Kentucky; five sisters, Teresa Roberts of Ricetown, Kentucky, Janie McIntosh and Geraldine Smith, both of Booneville, Maggie Draper of Jellico, Tennessee and Sharon Noble of Cow Creek; and a host of friends and relatives. Bobby J. Noble, age 34, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his residence in Booneville, KY. Bobby was born November 28, 1981 in Manchester, KY, a son to the late Don and Pamela (Neace) Glenn. Mr. Hargis Noble, age 79, passed away October 23rd, 2013 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY following a brief illness. Brookville, Indiana - Ray Noble died at Brookville Healthcare Center on Thursday, November 30, 2006. He was 83 years old. He was born in Owsley County, Ky, on February 26, 1923, the son of Harlan and Easter McIntosh Noble. He was married to the former Loretta Reed and she preceded him in death. Mr. Noble served in the United States Army and was employed in construction. Surviving is one son, Harlan Noble of Oxford, OH; and his grandchildren, Tonya Kelly, Katie Gronas and Rodney Noble, all of Hamilton, OH; several great grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Herald of Booneville, Kentucky, Nettie McIntosh of Plymouth, Michigan, and Bea Buckhold of Springfield, Ohio; plus one brother, Luther Noble of Brookville. Besides his wife, Mr. Noble was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. The visitation and funeral service were held Saturday, December 2, 2006 in Cook Funeral Home. Gary Hoff, minister with the Jehovah Witnesses, officiated the service. Burial followed in Big Cedar Cemetery where family members and friends served as pallbearers.
