Neace, Stella Baker

Stella Baker Neace, 91, widow of James Clell Neace died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Neace was born June 22, 1914 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. She was a school teacher in the elementary graded in Kentucky, Ohio and Baltimore County Maryland. She attended Witherspoon College High School. She was a graduate of Lees Jr. College and the University of Maryland. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Buckhorn, KY. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home, Booneville Kentucky with burial in the Baker Plot of the Cortland Cemetery of Cortland Kentucky. Neeley, Theresa Kay

Booneville, KY – Theresa Kay Neeley, 38, of Florence, KY, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the St. Luke Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY. Theresa was born on August 4, 1968, in Ft. Thomas, KY, to the late Jack Tye and Shirley Adams Neeley. She was a homemaker, and a waitress and cook for Ryans Steak House in Florence, KY. She attended the Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Chelcie Kemper of Falmouth, KY; four brothers, Jack Tye Neeley, Jr. and Matthew Neeley, both of Florence, KY, Mark Neeley of Williamstown, KY, and David Neeley of Independence, KY; five sisters, Debbie Elliott and Kim Sebree, both of Burlington, KY, Tammy Final of Stamping Ground, KY, Ruby Davis of Walton, KY and April Couch of Crittendon, KY; and a host of friends and relatives. Memorial services were held Friday, May 18, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Becknell/Neeley Cemetery, with the Rev. J. Jamison Brunk officiating. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Newman, Clarence E.

Booneville, KY – Clarence Edward Newman, age 104, widower of Mae Coomer Newman, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at the Lee County Rehab Center where he had been residing for the last four years. He was born in Owsley County, KY, on September 15, 1902, to the late Millard and Susie Newman. He was a former employee of the W. C. Synder Company, a farmer, and a member of the New Hope Masonic Lodge # 574. Clarence was a great man who loved the Lord, and had been a very active member at the Warren’s Chapel Methodist Church in Vincent, KY, where he led the singing and taught. When asked to sing in his later years, he would always sing, “O Happy Day”. He is survived by three sons, Larry Newman of Vincent, KY, Hurshel Newman of Booneville, KY and Charles (& Betty) Newman of Beattyville, KY; three daughters, Wilma L. Newman and Florine N. Burke, both of Lexington, KY, and Bethel (& Dave) Tincher of Punta Gorda, FL; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, James Harold, Darwin and Elvoyde Newman, two daughters, Phyllis Sterling and Carol Lusk; a granddaughter, Tara Burke; and a brother, Dorsie Newman. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home, with the Rev. Finley Isaacs, Jr. and Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Visitation was held on Friday evening, at the funeral home, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Burial in the Newman Family Cemetery, Booneville, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Noble, Betty Sue

Ricetown, KY – Betty Sue Roberts Noble, 41, of Owsley County, Kentucky, wife of James Noble, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005, at her residence. She was born on March 2, 1963, in Clay County, to Bertha Bennett Roberts and the late Elmer Roberts. She was a CNA for the Owsley County Health Care Center and attended the Indian Creek Presbyterian Church. Along with her husband of 17 years, she is survived by three sons, Patrick and Elmer Dale Chandler, and Christopher Roberts, all of Ricetown, Kentucky; two daughters, Rebecca Ohmer of Corbin, Kentucky and Jessica Noble of Ricetown, Kentucky; and two grandchildren. Other survivors are three brothers, William Earl Roberts, Booneville, Kentucky, Jimmy Roberts of Largo, Florida and Fred Roberts of Ricetown, Kentucky; five sisters, Teresa Roberts of Ricetown, Kentucky, Janie McIntosh and Geraldine Smith, both of Booneville, Maggie Draper of Jellico, Tennessee and Sharon Noble of Cow Creek; and a host of friends and relatives. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Chandler and Mary Beard; and three infant siblings. Funeral services held on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Powlas and Rev. Hank Patton officiating. Stanton, KY – Donald Eugene Noble, 64, of the Stanton Nursing and Rehab Center, passed away October 16, 2007 after a long illness. He was born on July 18, 1943 in Owsley County to Gene and Bertha Gilbert Noble. He is survived by five sisters, Helen Johnson, Lerose, KY, Thelma Goodin and Mittie Brossart, both of Cold Springs, KY, Beatrice Puckett, New London, OH and Imogene Broshart, Alexandria, KY. Funeral services were held Friday, October, 19, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Turner officiating. Visitation held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in the Barrett-Gilbert Cemetery in Owsley Co. with Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Noble, Ethel Herald

Booneville, KY - Ethel H. Noble, 80, of Route 1, passed away January 19, 2007 at her residence, after a long illness. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was born in Breathitt County, KY on July 17, 1926, the daughter of Mose and Malvery Caudill Herald. She was the widow of Steve Noble. She is survived by five daughters, Clara Bates and Lora Bates, both of Monticello, KY, Mary Ellen Cordell of Wayne Co., KY, Isabelle Reynolds of Booneville, KY, and Daisy Mae Sandlin of Richmond, KY; three sons, Mose Noble and Danville Noble, both of Booneville, KY and Arch Noble of Manchester, KY; 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Funeral services Monday, January 22, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Earl Seale officiating. Noble, Ray

Brookville, Indiana - Ray Noble died at Brookville Healthcare Center on Thursday, November 30, 2006. He was 83 years old. He was born in Owsley County, Ky, on February 26, 1923, the son of Harlan and Easter McIntosh Noble. He was married to the former Loretta Reed and she preceded him in death. Mr. Noble served in the United States Army and was employed in construction. Surviving is one son, Harlan Noble of Oxford, OH; and his grandchildren, Tonya Kelly, Katie Gronas and Rodney Noble, all of Hamilton, OH; several great grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Herald of Booneville, Kentucky, Nettie McIntosh of Plymouth, Michigan, and Bea Buckhold of Springfield, Ohio; plus one brother, Luther Noble of Brookville. Besides his wife, Mr. Noble was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. The visitation and funeral service were held Saturday, December 2, 2006 in Cook Funeral Home. Gary Hoff, minister with the Jehovah Witnesses, officiated the service. Burial followed in Big Cedar Cemetery where family members and friends served as pallbearers.
