Elizabeth Jean Kilburn Oditt, the widow of Carlos Oditt, and the daughter of the late William and Callie Stewart Kilburn, was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on July 15, 1930 and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on January 14, 2011 at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 29 days. She was a retired machinist for the National Cash Register Company. Mrs. Oditt is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Sharon Jackson of Beattyville, Kentucky and Mrs. Donna Mays of Ravenna, Kentucky; her step-daughter, Yvonne Wooten; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Oditt, Helen Louise Seale Oliver

Helen Louise Oditt age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2013. She was born April 12, 1920 in Owsley County, Booneville, Kentucky to Chester and Dora Seale. Helen was a devoted homemaker and mother. She loved her flowers and cooking, never turning anyone away hungry. She had worked in many of our local restaurants before retiring. Helen attended the Church Of God In Jesus for many years, and was faithful and dedicated to God. She was a wonderful prayer warrior, always praying. Preceding her in death were her parents, Chester and Dora (Bowman) Seals; first husband, Goebel Oliver in 1973; second husband, Henry Oditt in 1993; two grandsons, Dale Jackson and Danny Williams; two brothers Conley and Raymond Seale; and a sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Oliver. She is survived by three daughters, Lola Faye Rose, Reba Christine Tibbs, and Evelyn "Sam" Greenfield, husband Chuck; step -daughter, Barbara Tussy; two step-sons, Eugene Oliver and Goebel Oliver, Jr.; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Seale, wife Wanda and Kenneth Wayne Seale; and a host of extended family and friends. Clinton Oldham, age 78 of Clarksville, Ohio passed peacefully Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born March 18, 1937 in Owsley County, Kentucky, Clinton was the son of Ellis and Minnie (Bishop) Oldham and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Clinton was a retired Job Setter with General Motors in Kettering and enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. Edith (nee Rowland) Oldham age 96 of Spring City, Tennessee and formerly of South Lebanon, Ohio, passed peacefully Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Golden Years Retirement Resort in Spring City, Tennessee. Born October 14, 1919 in Owsley County, Kentucky, Edith was the daughter of Andy and Ethel (Stivers) Rowland and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Stanley “Old Man” “Haney” Oldham, age 77 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019. Born October 03, 1942 in Owsley County, Ky to Ellis [son of Walter & Sallie Becknell Oldham] and Minne (nee Allen-Bishop) Oldham, Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, sister Loretta Combs, and brothers Clinton Oldham and Israel Oldham. Stanley was a retired Job Setter with the Delco company and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends telling stories, wood-working, was an avid gardener and enjoyed going coon hunting as well. Bobby Dale Oliver, 68, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Richmond, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Ralph J. [son of Willie & Cora Creech Oliver] and Katherine Culton Oliver. Bobby was a farmer for many years in Richmond, Kentucky. He loved camping and horseback riding with his extended second family. Bobby had an associate degree in Dairy Tech and a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Eastern Kentucky University. Booneville, KY – Herman Oliver, Jr., 79, husband of Roena Gray Oliver, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. Mr. Oliver was born in Owsley County, KY, on August 15, 1928, to the late Herman and Fannie Lynch Oliver. He was a farmer and attended the Assembly of God Church. Along with his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a daughter, Wilma (& Kenneth) Barrett of Booneville, KY; a son, Darrell J. (& Mayree) Oliver of Owenton, KY; two brothers, Coy and Verlon Oliver, both of Booneville, KY; a sister, Betty Sparks of Stanton, KY; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Ruth Oliver; a granddaughter, Amanda Michelle Oliver; and a sister, Zella Oliver. Booneville, KY – Lewis Marvin Oliver, age 77, passed away peacefully Feb. 28th, 2015 at the Owsley County Health Care Center following a long illness. He was born March 22nd, 1936 in Owsley County, KY, was the son of the late Willie and Cora Creech Oliver. He was a farmer, was a member of the Church of God. Marvin is survived by 3 sisters: Mrs. Mary Lou Gray (Ralph) of Booneville, KY, Mrs. Margaret Marie Gray of Hamilton, OH Mrs. Joyce Neeley (Ronnie) of Booneville, 2 brothers: Mr. Bill Oliver of Booneville and Mr. Ralph Oliver of Richmond, KY and also surviving are several loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Willie and Cora Oliver and 1 brother; Edward Lee Oliver, and 2 sisters; Anna Helen Oliver and Irene Oliver Culton. Oliver, Phyllis Ann Smith

Phyllis Ann Oliver was born May 8, 1948 in Owsley County and departed this life Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, being 69 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Elmo Smith and Martha Stepp Creech. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Coy Oliver of Booneville; two children, Betty Jo Thomas of Alexandria and Billy Paul Oliver of Florence and by three step children, Denzil Lee Oliver of Tyner, Carolyn Spurlock of Richmond and Norma J. Oliver of Sand Gap. She is also survived by seven siblings, Ronnie, Gary, Michael, Ruby, Bonnie, Sue and Teresa. She was blessed with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ralph J. Oliver Sr. age 90, husband of the late Katherine M. Culton Oliver, died on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his home in Richmond, Kentucky. Born on April 12, 1931 in Owsley County, Kentucky he was the son of the late Willie and Cora Creech Oliver. Ralph retired from the Madison County Road Department and was a Farmer. A member of the Irvine View Holiness Church. Osborne, Hubert

Hubert Osborne, 73, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2022 due to injuries sustained in a house fire on Thanksgiving Day in Newport, KY, where he was a long time resident. Hubert was born on January 17, 1948 to the late Russell and Nellie Frances (Jewell) Osborne. On April 27, 1968, Hubert married Sarah Fields and became a devoted husband. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was station in Germany. He also obtained his GED during this time. After coming home, he became a loving father of 3 girls: Belinda, Teresa Rena, and Rebecca Lyn. Hubert was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of his family before his own. He made sure his girls had everything they needed to do well in school and considered their education a priority. He was proud to say that all of his girls graduated high school, and that one went on to become a special education teacher and one a doctor. Hubert had a passion for cars and fishing. He spent many an hour teaching his girls about cars, taking them to car shows, and sitting on a fishing bank with them. His girls thought the world of their Daddy. Hubert instilled in his children the importance of family, hard work, knowing how to change their own tire, and doing what is right. Hubert was also a very strong, stubborn, and courageous man which was evident by how hard he fought for his family until the day he died. Hubert was preceded in death by both of his parents; his loving wife Sarah; his brothers Hearl, Anthony, and Otis Wayne Osborne; and his daughters Belinda Osborne Adams and Teresa Rena Osborne. Sarah F. Osborne, 71, went to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022 due to injuries sustained in a house fire. Her loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Sarah was born on December 9, 1950 in Oneida, KY to the late Carr and Naomi (Murray) Fields. On April 27, 1968, Sarah married Hubert Osborne and became a devoted wife. She went on to graduate from Owsley County High School and become a loving mother of 3 girls: Belinda, Teresa Rena, and Rebecca Lyn. Sarah had an immense passion for genealogy. Sarah was a long time resident of Newport, Kentucky at the time of her death. Sarah was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a very strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. As they grew up, Sarah was always there for her children and were their biggest supporters. She was so proud that her oldest became a special education teacher and her youngest a doctor. Sarah was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in her children the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Sarah was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother William Henry Fields, her sisters Oca Fields and Kathleen Fields, and her eldest daughter Belinda Osborne Adams. Teresa Rena Osborne, 47, went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2022 due to injuries sustained in a house fire. Her loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Teresa was born on January 15, 1975 in Ft. Thomas, KY to Hubert and Sarah (Fields) Osborne. Teresa proudly graduated Newport High School in 1995. Teresa was the kindest and most stubborn person you would ever meet. She never met a stranger and would have given her last dollar to a stranger in need. She had a lot of challenges in her life but she faced them with courage, dignity, and determination. She loved her sisters more than anything in the world until her nephews entered this world. Teresa had strong faith in God and had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young adult. She loved reading books by Fern Michaels, listening to country music especially Randy Travis, doing puzzles, and going to the park with her nephews. Teresa was preceded in death by her loving mother; her oldest sister Belinda Adams; both of her maternal grandparents Carr and Naomi (Murray) Fields; both of her paternal grandparents Russell and Nellie Frances (Jewell) Osborne; maternal uncle William Henry Fields; maternal aunts Oca and Kathleen Fields; paternal uncles Hearl Osborne, Anthony Osborne, and Otis Wayne Osborne; and her faithful dog Buster Brown. Teresa is survived by her loving father; her baby sister Rebecca Lyn (Bradley) Lewis; her nephews Aaron Bradley Lewis and William Henry Osborne Lewis; maternal aunts Audrey Farmer, Myrtle Napier, and Grace McIntosh; paternal uncle Larry Osborne; paternal aunts Joyce Allen, Kathy Peters, Linda Shoemaker, Patricia Taylor; special aunt Opal Smith; and a host of extended family and friends. Booneville, KY - Thelma J. Osborne - Neville, age 52, wife of Robert Lee Neville, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Centeral Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. Thelma was born June 8, 1958 to the late Nancy and Raymond Osborne. She was a member of the Sugar Camp Baptist Church and Home Maker. She is survived by her children, 2 sons; William Neville and Chris Neville both of Richmond, KY, 4 daughters; Ginger (Tim) Sparks of Mt. Vernon, KY, Sonoa Neville of Booneville, KY, Erica Neville and Lora Neville both of Eminence, KY, 1 brother; Mitchell (Dorothy) Osborne of Booneville, KY, 2 sisters; China (Bobby) Wilson and Donna Osborne both of Booneville, Ky, 11 grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends. Osborne, Pauline

Mrs. Pauline Osborne, 84, passed away August 26, 2011, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY following a long illness. She was born January 1, 1927 in Owsley County, KY, was the daughter of the late Willie and Maude Smith Osborne, was a homemaker and was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Osborne is survived by seven sons: Mr. Lou Svatba and wife Judy & Mr. Tony Bowman of Booneville, KY, Mr. Larry Duff of Versailles, KY, Mr. Dwayne Svatba and Mr. Wayne Svatba of Florence, KY, Mr. Alvin Svatba and wife Hazel of Cross Plains, IN and Mr. Carl Svatba and wife Tammy of Beattyville, KY: 24 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, also there is one sister: Mrs. Mildred Smith of Booneville, KY. Funeral services for Mrs. Osborne were held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Officiating the service was the Rev. Jerry Lacefield with the burial following in the Shepherd Memorial Cemetery in Booneville. The Searcy and Strong Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Booneville, KY- Clyde Owens Jr., age 80, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at Tennova North Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Clyde was a kind and caring person to everyone, loving husband and a man of strong Christian faith. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years; Roberta Owens, daughter; Darla Dietz of Florida, 4 stepchildren; Vickie Burns of Knoxville, TN, Mick (Sandy) Turner of Las Vegas, NV, Tim (Judy) Turner of Knoxville, TN, and Jim Turner of Clarksville, IN, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde Owens Sr., and Eva (Brown) Owens, and 1 son; Russell Owens. Owens, Norma Faye Logan

Norma Faye Owens, 79, passed February 6, 2013 at Grandview Health Center of Martinsville where she had been a patient for eight months. The eldest of three girls, she was born June 18, 1933 in Owsley County, Kentucky to William and Mertie (daughter of William Harrison “Bunk” & Mary Ann “Sissy” Creech Gabbard of Travellers Rest) Logan. She was a 1972 graduate of Whiteland High School and graduated from Ivy Tech School of Nursing in 1977 as a licensed practical nurse. On September 14, 1951, she was married to John E. Owens in Connersville. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2001. They were married forty-nine years. Norma not only worked as L.P.N. for thirty-five years, she also was employed by the Fayette County Aging Services from 1999 to 2002. She reared five children, Donald E. Owens of San Antonio, Texas, Linda S. Owens of Rushville, Indiana, William J. Owens of Indianapolis, Indiana, John David Owens of Greenwood, Indiana and Elizabeth A. Duncan of Mooresville, Indiana, a sister and brother-in-law, Thomas and Sue Ripberger and their family. Norma was a very proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was a member of New Heights Church of Christ as well as Martinsville Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home; burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery – family and friends may call from 9 AM until the time of the service.
