Booneville, KY – Virgil Olinger, 71, passed away Monday, May 18, 1998 at the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, KY. He was born April 5, 1927 in Owsley County to the late Henry and Letha Bingham Olinger. He was a self- employed farmer and life time resident of Owsley County. Survivors include a sister, Nora Taylor of Zoe, KY. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earnest Olinger. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 20, at 1:00 p .m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with the Rev. Garret Thomas officiating. Burial in the Olinger Cemetery at Zoe, KY with Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements

 

Oliver, Herman Jr.

Booneville, KY – Herman Oliver, Jr., 79, husband of Roena Gray Oliver, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. Mr. Oliver was born in Owsley County, KY, on August 15, 1928, to the late Herman and Fannie Lynch Oliver. He was a farmer and attended the Assembly of God Church. Along with his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a daughter, Wilma (& Kenneth) Barrett of Booneville, KY; a son, Darrell J. (& Mayree) Oliver of Owenton, KY; two brothers, Coy and Verlon Oliver, both of Booneville, KY; a sister, Betty Sparks of Stanton, KY; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Ruth Oliver; a granddaughter, Amanda Michelle Oliver; and a sister, Zella Oliver. Funeral services were Friday, November 20, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Brother Randall Amburgy and Brother Carl Read officiating. Burial at the Brown Cemetery, Travellers Rest, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Booneville Sentinel December 6, 2007.

 

Osborne, S. Helen Bishop

OSBORNE, S. Helen (Bishop) age 61 of Sardinia, Ohio passed peacefully Monday, October 15, 2007 at Hospice of Cincinnati with her family by her side. Born April 22, 1946 in Ricetown, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Leonard and Lydia (Reed) Bishop and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will always be remembered for her kindness, giving and her patriotism, as she was very proud of her two grandsons serving in the U.S. Navy - Adam Blevins and Marines - Allen Kelly. Preceded in death by her parents and two sisters - Iva Clouse and Ethel Sunnycalb; she is survived by her sons - Tony (Anne) Blevins of Maineville, Ohio, Dennis (Donna) Blevins of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Britt (Jennifer) Blevins of Batavia, Ohio and step-son - Tom Osborne of Florida; step-daughters - Polly Vick of Texas, Jennifer Kelly of Kentucky and Laura Osborne of Sardinia, Ohio; brothers - Ben Bishop of Lebanon, Carl Bishop of Morrow and Roy Bishop of Tennessee; sister - Maggie Couch of Hillsboro, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Friends may call on the family Thursday evening, October 18, 2007 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2007 at 1:00pm at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of God on Deerfield Road, Lebanon, Ohio with Reverend Ray Napier officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon, Ohio.
