Jack was born in Clarksville, OH on June 7, 1937, a son of the late Naomi (Reis) and Chester Rabenstein. He worked and retired in Harrison, Ohio before returning to Booneville. He was the owner of Jack's Service Center and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Booneville, KY – John R. Ramsey, 73, of Foster, KY passed away on April 28, 2009, at the St. Lukes Hospital East in Fort Thomas, KY after a long illness. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a Mason with the Masonic Lodge # 482, Farmersville. Mr. Ramsey was a Security Officer for McCalls Printing and Black River Mines. He was born on June 12, 1935 in Owsley County, KY to Park Ramsey & Sarah Emma Barrett Ramsey and the widower of Dottie Johnson Ramsey. He is survived by his mother, Sarah Emma Bishop of Booneville; a brother, James Ramsey, a sister, Lucille Skaggs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Albert Ramsey and a sister, Dorothy Jackson. RARRIECK, MAXINE BECKNELL

Maxine Becknell Rarrieck was born May 2, 1947 in Clay County and departed this life Sunday, March 29, 2009 at her residence in Hamersville, Ohio, being 61 years of age. She was the daughter of the late James Earl “E.C.” Becknell and Minnie Baker Becknell. Maxine is survived by her husband Bill Rarrieck of Hamersville, Ohio; by two children- James Pierson of Tyner and Mary Pierson Moore of Norwood, Ohio and by one sister- Joyce Turner of Norwood, Ohio. She was blessed with three grandchildren- Ian Pierson of Tyner, Matthew Moore and Madison Moore both of Norwood, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Maxine was also preceded in death by a sister- Marlene Lee. Maxine was a member of the Withemsville Church of Christ. Lillie Mae (Leach) Ratliff, 72, of Madison Avenue, Richmond, the widow of Carl, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010, at her home. She was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on September 10, 1937, to Boyd Monroe Leach and Dora Mae (Ratliff) Leach, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church and also attended the Gloryland Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Diana Pence (Billy) of Richmond; five sons, Danny (Sharon) Ratliff of Berea, Hershel (Linda) Ratliff of Owsley County, Billy (Robyn) Ratliff of Rockcastle County, James (Sandy) Ratliff of Berea, and Russell (Michelle) Ratliff of Rockcastle County; three brothers, Willie White Leach of Richmond, Asa Leach of Salt Lick, and James Leach of Mt. Sterling; 18 grandchildren and 13, great grandchildren. Mr. Miles Ratliff Sr., 73, passed away November 2, 2011 at the Owsley County Health Care Center following a brief illness. He was born June 18, 1938 in Wolfe County, KY, was the son of the late John Miles and Rosie Watkins Ratliff, was the husband of Joyce Pierson Ratliff, was a retired farmer and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Ratliff is survived by his wife: Mrs. Joyce Ratliff of Booneville, KY: two sons, Mr. Miles Jr. Ratliff and wife Crystal of Booneville, KY; Mr. John Ratliff and wife Tracy of Beattyville, KY; One stepson: Mr. John II Wethington and wife Tina of Booneville, KY: one daughter; Mrs. Deloria Cantrell of Sun Valley, Missouri. Four granddaughters survive: Alice, Rachel, Mary and Samatha Ratliff: two step-granddaughters; Keyada and Kaylee Wethington and two grandsons: Dustin and Christopher Ratliff. Also surviving are three brothers: Mr. Johnny Ratliff and wife Phyllis of Booneville, KY; Mr. Sonny Ratliff and wife Francis of Booneville, KY and Mr. Donnie Ratliff of Booneville, KY. She was a former nurse’s aide for the Stanton Nursing Home, a homemaker and a member of the Beattyville Christian Church. Along with her parents, she is survived by her fiancée, Shawn Gibson of Manchester, KY; two sons, Austin Effort Reece and Ethan Darrell Wilder both of Beattyville, KY; three daughters, Christin Kaylee Reece and Gabriel Faith Reece, both of Beattyville, KY and Madison Patience Jean Gibson of Manchester, KY. Gracie M. Reed age 74 of Middletown, formerly of Miamisburg, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at Sycamore Glen Health Center. She was born April 4, 1937 in Owsley County, KY to the late Isaac and Hattie (Bowman) Neeley, Sr. In addition to her parents, Gracie was preceded in death by her son, Bennie Reed; daughter, Deborah Frasier; four brothers, 2 infants and Isaac Neeley, Jr. and Troy Neeley and sisters, Marie Geckler and Thelma Heath. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Fred Reed; sons, Ed Reed of Farmersville, Billy (Joy) Reed of Miamisburg and Jamie (Lesley) Reed of Kettering; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Ann (Howard) Moore of Stanton, KY and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a brother, Archie Reed of Booneville, KY; a half-brother, Robert Frost of Ricetown, KY; two sisters, Betty Belle Sandlin on Booneville, KY and Polly Ann McIntosh of Mt. Olivet, KY; his wife, Mary J. Campbell Reed of Campton, KY; and his former wife, Joyce Ann Reed of Booneville, KY; and a host of friends and relatives. Lexington, KY – Frances Becknell Renfroe, 74, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. Frances was born in Owsley County on October 3, 1933, to the late Regon and Lucy Bowman Becknell. She was retired from Foam Design Incorporated in Lexington, KY, and attended the Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Tim (& Charlotte) Renfroe of Batesville, IN; a grandson, Travis Ray Renfroe; her former husband, Ray Renfroe of Lexington, KY; a sister, Ethel Harvey of Xenia, OH; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kendall and Benny Becknell and two sisters, Nina Mays and Georgia Taylor. William Grant Retherford, age 65, of Franklin OH, passed away January 14, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 3, 1939 in Owsley County KY, the son of Charlie and Gertrude (Taylor) Retherford. He was a veteran of the US Army and was employed for 35 years by G.M. Harrison Radiator as an auditor, retiring in 2001. William was a member of the Bonita Drive Church of Christ. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Raymond Retherford, and a sister Etta Belle Gray. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joy (Click) Retherford; 3 sons, Duane (Sharon) Retherford of West Middletown OH, Travis (Beth) Retherford of Springboro OH, Erik Retherford of Franklin OH, and a step son, Mark (Belinda) Crawford of Miamisburg OH; brothers, Dallas Retherford of Trenton OH, John Retherford of Franklin OH, Danny Retherford of Bluff City TN, and Marion Retherford of West Carrollton OH; 2 sisters, Hazel Combs of Loveland OH and Ethel Creager of Middletown OH. REYNOLDS, CARL R.

Booneville, KY – Carl R. Reynolds, 86, passed away August 15, 2008, at the Eastern KY Veterans Center, Hazard, KY after a long illness. He was a member of the Cow Creek Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Reynolds was a former state representative from 1956 to 1958. He was a retired merchant and Real Estate Developer, and was instrumental in securing the Booneville City Water & Sewer System, the new Owsley Co. courthouse and the Owsley County Health Care Center. He was born on October 13, 1921 to the late Willie C. and Mae Treadway Reynolds. He was married to his wife, Mary Lou Estepp Reynolds for 67 years, who survives him. Booneville, KY – Don Edward Reynolds, 59, of Bear Run, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at his residence. Don was born June 18, 1947 in Owsley County, to the late Carl and Bethel Fox Reynolds. He was a former machine operator for Monsanto Company in Addison, Ohio, and a U. S. Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War with the rank of Sergeant. His list of medals include the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart and V Medal of Valor. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Riley of Walton, KY and Virginia of Union, Ky; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Reynolds Little and Emma Frances Reynolds, and a brother Carl Reynolds, Jr. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home, with Rev. Mr. Glen Reynolds, 59, passed away March 9, 2011 at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson following a long illness. He was born July 2, 1951 in Oneida, KY, was the son of the late George and Ellen Murrell Reynolds, and was a carpenter. Glen is survived by one son: Mr. Michael Reynolds, and wife Sonya, one daughter, Ms. Chasity, and grandchildren: Michaela, Kallin, MacKenzie, Kendra, Austin, Ethan and Sarah all of Booneville, KY. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Willetta Botner of Booneville, KY; Mrs. Georgia Bowman of Ohio and Mrs. Frances Caudill of Jackson, KY and one brothers: Mr. Earl Reynolds of Elmere, KY. The funeral service for Mr. Reynolds were held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with the Rev. Joan Reynolds, 65, died on 12/13/2010 at St. Joseph Hospital after having a long illness. She was a homemaker, and was born to George Marshall and Mary Thomas in Owsley Co., KY on 03/18/1945. Margie Ann Dean Rice 68 of Sand Gap KY, died Sunday at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Robert Lee Riley, 62, husband of Laura Turner Riley, passed away January 31, 2011 at Georgetown Community Hospital. He was born September 23, 1948 in Owsley County, Kentucky to the late James and Bertha Spencer Riley. He attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church and was an employee at Johnson Control for 35 years. Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert Allan (Regina) Riley of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jacob Riley, Hannah Courtney, and Joshua Riley; brothers, Levi (Mary) Riley of Highland Heights, Zeke (Nancy) Riley of Georgetown, Hent (Julia) Riley of Georgetown, and Willie (Cindy) Riley of Hamilton, Ohio; sister, Laura (Gary) Hills of Cynthiana; 12 nieces, 8 nephews, 17 great nieces, and 5 great nephews. Frankfort, KY – Curtis Ripy, 65, of Frankfort, KY, formerly of Booneville, KY passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ripy and Mary Bell Ripy Shepard; a brother, C. B. Ripy, two sisters, Gladys Moreland and Evelyn Johnson. A native of Anderson County, he was born June 5, 1944. Mr. Ripy retired after 31 years of service with Allied Signal. He was a member of the Swallowfield Baptist Church and attended Bee Branch Church in Owsley County. He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Allen Ripy; three sons, Bobby Ripy, Lawrenceburg, Christopher Ripy, Winchester, Curtis M. Ripy, Jr., Germany; three daughters, Carrie Wilhoite, Owenton, Ericka Roederer, Frankfort, Cheryl Kane, Winchester; three sisters, Mabel Smith, Ruby Smith, both of Lawrenceburg and Virginia Wells of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held at 1:00 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with Mr. Bill Allen officiating. Mr. Ripy will be laid to rest in Lawrenceburg Cemtery. Beattyville, KY – Kelly Ritchie, age 62, husband of Beulah Deaton Ritchie, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. Kelly was born in Knox, Indiana on January 7, 1948 to the late Woodrow and Laura Prater Ritchie. He was a former lumber worker for the Grisby Lumber Company in Jackson, KY. Kelly was survived by five sisters, America McCarty of Mayfield, KY, Mattline (& Ellis) Stacy of Salyersville, KY, Donna (& Charles) Keith of Jackson, KY, Naomi (& Willie) Tharp of Booneville, KY and Marcella (& Linville) Hopper of Winchester, KY. Also surviving are two brothers, Ordway (& Bernice) Ritchie of LaPorte, IN, Manard (& Verna) Ritchie of Winchester, KY; and a host of friends and relatives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Carl Ritchie. Alene Combs Ritter, 77, of Ringgold, Ga., died on Tuesday March 25, 2008 in a local hospital. She was a native of Booneville, Ky., but had lived in the North Georgia area for 44 years. She was the widow of the late Paul Ritter. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Barry Hughie of Ringgold; Kathy and Al Price of Soddy Daisy; son and daughter-in-law, William and Lisa Ritter of Rossville; grandchildren, Chris Bethune Tracy Brookshire, and Jacob Ritter; great-grandchildren, Cody, Josh, and Alex Bethune; Austin and Hunter Brookshire; sister, Jeannie Pritchett of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother, Warren Combs of Portland, Or. Booneville, KY – Anna Bell Barker Roberts, 83, widow of Ned Roberts, passed away Friday, December 16, 2005, at her residence. She was born April 10, 1922, in Estill County, Kentucky, to the late William and Emily (Terry) Barker, and was a homemaker.Survivors include four daughters, Bonnie Cooper of Hanover, Indiana, Francis Roberts of Booneville, Kentucky and Oma and Carolyn Roberts, both of Beattyville, Kentucky; two sons, Jimmy and Willard Roberts, both of Lerose, Kentucky; 36 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Leona, Cleona and Bertha Roberts.Funeral services were held on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. Bertha Roberts age 81 of Connersville went home to be with her Lord on Thursday July 7, 2011 at her residence. She was born December 7, 1929 in Owsley County, KY the daughter of Charlie Gabbard and Lennie Mainous Gabbard Fields. She came to Connersville in 1952. Bertha is a member of the Blooming Grove Family Worship Center and was a homemaker, Mother and Grandmother. She loved to sew, crochet, and work in the garden. She loved flowers and canning. In her younger years she was unable to finish her high school education due to family responsibilities but it was always important for her to receive her high school diploma. She was proud to receive her diploma in 1989. She is survived by her 4 daughters Sandra & Jeff Detmer, Osgood, IN; Patricia & Ricky Rowe, Connersville; Teresa & Tony Horning, Clinton Twp, MI; and Carol Roberts & companion David Wells, Connersville; 2 sons Charles E. & Juanita Roberts, Blooming Grove; and David A. Roberts & companion Jean Robinette, Connersville; 17 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. David Roberts age 81 of the Everton Community passed away Sunday July 13, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 11, 1926 in Owsley County, KY the son of the late Elihue and Lydia Reed Roberts. He has resided in the Connersville and Everton area since 1952. He is a charter member and deacon of the Blooming Grove Family Worship Center. David served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a medic in the Phillipines. He is a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He farmed all of his life in addition to working for several years at Rex. Manufacturing and D & M until retirement. He was an outdoorsman and a hunter. He was married for over 60 years to Bertha Gabbard Roberts to whom he was married on March 27, 1948 in Booneville, KY. Hamilton, OH – Elza Roberts, 64, of 5895 Kyle Station Road, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Mercy Hospital , Cincinnati, Ohio after a short illness with cancer. He was born on March 9, 1940 to Joe and Bonnie Roberts, Booneville, Kentucky. Elza was a veteran, a member of Booneville Lodge # 939 R & AM, the Scottish Rite and the Shriners. He is survived by his wife, Rita Brewer Roberts of Hamilton; two sons, Greg Roberts and Darryl (& Candi) Roberts of Ohio; two daughters, Lisa (& Bruce) Herring and Rhonda (& the late Dale Brewer) of Chicago; two sisters, Rosetta (& Jim) Riddell, Dayton, Ohio and the late Joanna (& James) Meredith of Tennessee; a nephew, Rodney Roberts (son of Rosetta) of Dayton, Ohio. He was a devoted grandfather to Dylan, Dale, Sean, Simone, Alex and Casey. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Roberts and his sister, Joanna Roberts Meredith. Gladene (nee: Byrd) Roberts, 64, of Lebanon, died Friday, April 29, 2011. Born December 17, 1946 in Oneida, KY to Clyde and Minnie (nee: Singleton) Byrd. Gladene retired from Avon Products in 2000 after 33 years. She was a member of the South Lebanon First Baptist Church. She cherished time spent with her grandsons. She was an avid gardener, having completed a Master Gardener program, and nature lover. She never met a stranger. She loved and was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Danny W. Roberts, son Danny Dwayne Roberts, three brothers: Clyde “Tony” Byrd, William Byrd, and Joseph Byrd. Survivors include her daughter Tami Franz (Dave) of Lebanon, two sisters: Ruby Raleigh (Bob) of Maineville and Henrietta Early (Chuck) of Dillsboro, IN, two grandsons: Grant Daniel Dalton Franz and Nicholas Hopewell as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. James Roberts, 68, passed away September 11, 2011 at his residence following a sudden illness. Josephine Roberts, age 68, of Metamora, Indiana died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana. Born October 6, 1942 in Owsley County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Riley & Betty (Hensley) Russell. On December 21, 1957, she was united in marriage to John Roberts Sr., and he survives. She lived most of her life in the Metamora community. Before her retirement, she had worked at the former Jay Garment Works in Brookville, and also at the Elsie Dreyer Nursing Home. She was a member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Metamora, Indiana. Besides John Sr., her husband of over 53 years, survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Anita & James Wells of Metamora, Indiana; four sons & daughters-in-law, Leroy & Bonnie Roberts of Laurel, Indiana, John Jr. & Donna Roberts, Timothy & Carol Roberts all of Metamora, Indiana and Lonnie & Kami Roberts of Morris, Indiana; two sisters, JoAnn McQueen of Clay County, Kentucky and Earlene (Jethro) Murrell of Jackson County, Kentucky; a brother, Donald (Josephine) Russell of Clay County, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. ROBERTS, LENA MAE WILSON

Booneville, KY – Lena Mae Roberts, 91, was born September 10, 1916, one of 14 children to Mattie Turner and Pet Wilson of Cow Creek, KY in Owsley County. She passed away November 30th at Memorial Hospital in Manchester, KY, after spending six weeks in the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, where a great deal of loving kindness and care was given to her. In December of 1938, she married Tilmon Roberts, who preceded her in death in November of 1998. She is survived by their only daughter, Ruby Bowling, of Manchester, KY, and two granddaughters, Betty Cornish and husband, Allen, of Lexington, KY, and Beverly Sebastian and husband, Michael, of Brentwood, Tennessee. Surviving also is one very special nephew, Marvin Wilson and his wife Debbie, who have gone far beyond any reasonable expectations to show love and kindness. She is also survived by four brothers, Homer Wilson of Booneville, KY, Carl Wilson of Germantown, OH, Roy Wilson of Raleigh, N. C., and Raymond Wilson of Smithfield, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a housewife, as well as a worker in the fields with her husband. She was affiliated with the First Church of God and listened faithfully to her preachers on television and radio. She was buried near her childhood home on Cow Creek in the Wilson Cemetery beside her husband. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Booneville Funeral Home. Rev. J. Tyner, KY – Steven Dewayne Roberts, 40, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Steven was born October 5, 1967, in Irvine, KY. He is survived by his father, Ronald Lee (& Barbara) Roberts of Booneville, KY; his mother, Lucy Mae (& Gene) Martin of Annville, KY; and his companion of 18 years, Norma Oliver; a son, Eric Dewayne Roberts and a daughter, Brandi Daniels, all of Tyner, KY. Also surviving are three sisters, Melissa (& John) Brunelle and Deana (& Gary) McIntosh, both of Booneville, KY, and Regina Lee (& Clayton) Rocque of Richmond, VT; three step brothers, Jonathan and Benny Martin, both of Alabama, and Aaron McIntosh of Midway, KY; a step sister, Terri Martin of MO; his paternal grandmother, Louise Roberts of Booneville, KY; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. London, KY – Verlon Roberts, 83, formerly of Owsley County, left this life on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Marymount Hospital in London, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, as of August 14th, Euleen Bowman Roberts of London; a daughter, Joyce Carolyn Mayes and husband, Bob, of Booneville, Kentucky; a son, James (Jim) D. Roberts of London, Kentucky; three brothers, Clarence Roberts, Island City, Kentucky, Cecil Roberts, Jackson, Kentucky and Edward Lee Roberts of Lebanon, Ohio; a sister, Irma Jean Withrow, Mason, Ohio, also, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Mr. Roberts was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on October 4, 1922, to the late Roscoe Roberts and Nora Neeley Roberts. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Danny Roberts; two sisters, Eunice Spence and Betty Jo Gay. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, London, Kentucky. Claude Robertson, age 78, of Carlisle, OH; went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 23, 2010 at Hospice of Butler/Warren Counties. Claude was born in Booneville KY on November 24, 1931 to James and Lucy (Moore) Robertson. He was a member and former pastor of Cherry Valley United Baptist Church in Hamilton. Claude was preceded in death by parents, sisters Esther Stevens and Fannie Ball. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Juanita (Thompson) Robertson; sons Greg (Barb) Robertson of Middletown, Wayne (Paula) Robertson of Middletown; daughters Charlotte Johnson of Franklin, Bonnie Pelfrey of Franklin; 9 grandchildren Lindsay (Andy), Andrea (Blake), Jimmy, Jordan, Zack, Joey, Shelby, Jennifer, Nick, and special buddy Sabrina; a brother Ellis Robertson of Booneville, KY. Ellis Robertson, age 80, widower of Sarah June (Moore) Robertson, passed away Monday, December 20th, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Lexington, KY. Ellis was born in Owsley County on March 10, 1930, to the union of the late Lucy (Moore) and Jim Robertson. He was a retired construction worker, loved gardening and attending local area churches. Ellis is survived by 1 son, Steve (Wanda) Robertson, of West Harrison, IN; 7 daughters, Pat (Mike) Brewer, of West Harrison, IN; Sharon (Jerry) Ridener, of Franklin, OH; Tammy Isaacs, of Middletown, OH; Charlotte (Doyle) Willis, of Barbourville, KY; Cindy (Bert) McQueen, Angela Turner, both of Booneville, KY; Elaine (Paul) Sizemore, of Beattyville, KY. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Betty Lou Robinson, 77, widow of Harmon Robinson Sr passed away January 29, 2009. She was born March 17, 1931 in Owsley County to Freddie and Edna Edwards. Mrs Robinson had lived most of her life in Madison County and was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church. She is survived by: one son, Harmon(Anna) Robinson Jr, four daughters, Carol (Tim) Casteel, Charleen (Bill) Robinson both of Estill County. Debbie (Tim) Robinson of Richmond and Barbara (Mike) of Knott County. Brother Billy (Marcel) Edwards: two sisters, Susie (Melvin) Head, and Louis Edwards. 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Edith Ann Robinson. Private funeral services were conducted at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home with Bro. James Thomas “Peaches” Rose, 68, of Red House Rd., Richmond, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Compassionate Care Center. He was born on July 5, 1941, in Pulaski, Virginia, the son of Arch Tifton “A. T.” and Norma Garrett Rose. He was a bus driver for the Madison Co. Board of Education, a Veteran of the U. S. Army Reserves and a member of the Northeast Christian Church in Lexington. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Mayes Rose; one son, James Tifton Rose, of Richmond; three daughters, Rebecca (Jeff) Clark, of Somerset, Susan Dalton, of Richmond and Mary Ann Sowers (Mark), of Richmond; one sister, Sally (Richard) Childers, of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Amanda Sowers Durbin (Neil), Tabitha Clark, Daniel Dalton, Casey Clark, Matthew Rose, Sarah Dalton, Zachory Dalton, and Austin Rose; lifelong friends, Darrell and Lois Fritz and Lorretta Witt; and a host of numerous other relatives and friends. Lexington, KY – Reba McIntyre Rose, 89, of Mable Lane, formally of Booneville and Beattyville, went to be with her Lord on Friday, Feb 22, 2008. She was born on May 16, 1918 at Levi, KY to William L. McIntyre and Elizabeth Ann Mainous McIntyre. She was a member of the Booneville United Methodist Church and a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Callahan Rose; an infant son, Kenneth Rose; brothers, Fred, Lester, and infant brother Dorsey; sisters Maude Hicks, Gertrude Venable, Mable Jones and Dorothy Arnold. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rose of Lexington, KY; son William Edward Rose (Belinda Congleton Rose) of Flowery Branch, GA, granddaughter; Jennifer Elizabeth Rose of Atlanta, GA; grandson, James Douglas (Candice) Rose of Braselton, GA; sister, Fannie Belle Venable of Mason, OH; and a host of family and friends. Mrs. Rose worked in Lee and Owsley Counties for more than 39 years before moving to Lexington, Kentucky. Hazel Green, KY – Rosemary Johnson Rose, 73, formerly of Booneville, KY passed away at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born in Hazel Green, Kentucky. Rosemary and her beloved husband, Billy G. Rose, lived in Bella Vista, Arkansas for three years. She loved to travel, read and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Christian Church, a lifelong member of the National PTA and a dedicated community volunteer. She leaves behind her husband, Billy G. Rose of Hazel Green; four children, Diane, Paul, Ray and Rebecca; two grandchildren, Nathan and Nicholas; and her brother, Byron Johnson. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, Arch and Angie Rose Johnson; and her brother, E. A. Johnson. Funeral services were held at Hazel Green Christian Church on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at the Hazel Green Cemetery. Samey was born in Owsley County, KY on October 12, 1931, a son of the late Mary (Beard) and Lester Rowland. He was a retired farmer, and a member of the Levi Baptist Church in Booneville, KY. He is survived by 1 daughter; Shirley and Allen Hackworth of Richmond, KY, 2 sisters; Bertha Baker of Booneville, KY and Ida Mosley of Manchester, KY, 1 grandchild; Allen Wayne Hackworth, 1 great grandchild; Austin Wayne Hackworth, and a host of many other loving family members and friends. James D. Rowlette, age 70 of Hamilton, OH died March 3, 2010 in Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born in Travelers Rest, KY on August 17, 1939, the son of Swift and Bess (Wilson) Rowlette and was a 1957 graduate of Fairfield High School. On April 28, 1962 in Hamilton, he married Lois Jean Rice. Mr. Rowlette had worked as a deliveryman for the Hamilton Journal News for forty years, retiring in 2008. Survivors include his wife, Lois Jean; his mother, Bess Kramer; two children, Doug Rowlette, of Hamilton and Melissa Radley, of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Bradley, Eric, Sarah, Casey, and Emily; two great grandchildren, Skye and Grace; two brothers, Larry and Ron Rowlette; two sisters, Charlene Rice and Bonnie Cruthers. He was preceded in death by his father and his step father, Raymond Kramer. He is survived by his wife Audrey Russell of Sextons Creek, Ky, 2 daughters, Lori Turner of Fairfield, Ohio, Tammy Deck of Moorse Hills, Ind, and 1 son, William Russell of Milan, Ind. 1 Step-daughter Myra Frost of Sextons Creek, Ky, 7 grand-children and 3 step-grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother, David Russell of Brookville, Ind, 1 sister Ruth Benear of Douglasville, Georgia, 1 half-sister, Annette Shannon of Georgetown, Ohio and 1 step-sister, Linda Couger of Georgetown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Russell and Zola Byrd Russell Cavins. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be missed by his family, friends, neighbors and church family. Maysville, KY – Winnie B. Russell, 80, of the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Owsley Co., passed away Thursday, February 9, 2007 after a long illness. She was born on October 1, 1926 in Lowndes Co., Mississippi to the late Robert Lee White and Viola Herman White. She was a retired cannery worker. She was the widow of Fred Russell. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Coger and Annette Shannon, both of Georgetown, OH and Ruth Benear of Douglasville, GA; two sons, David Russell, Mt. Carmel, IN and Andrew Russell of Booneville, KY; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years (Fred Russell); her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Herman White; and two sisters, Katherine Peters and Grace Stallings. Funeral services at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Lucian Estridge officiating.
