Sadler, Carl Eugene
BOONEVILLE - Carl Eugene Sadler was serenaded by angels and welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sun., Mar. 19, 2006. Born in Logan County, KY, Aug. 31, 1918. Son of Eugene and Erna (Bodine) Sadler; husband of Mary Earline (Bond) Sadler; brother of Louise Godown, LeMae Carter, Geneva Phillips Carter; father of Charlotte Brown, Joan Traylor, Carl Sadler Jr., and James Sadler. Grandfather of Kenneth Wright, Carlene (Robert) Suiter, Michael (Tina) Wright, Daniel (Jaymie) Wright, Douglas Traylor, and Michelle (Tony) Pickett; great grandfather of Misty and Adam Wright, Nicholas and Timothy Suiter, Christian and Cary Wright, Isaac Wright, Peter and Ashleigh Pickett; great, great grandfather of Jordon and Tori Pauw, Elizabeth Brett, and Gabriel Wright. Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. God saved him at the age of 14 and called him to preach His unsearchable riches when he was 20. He graduated from Gordansville High School, entered Campbellsville College in 1938 to prepare to be a Minister of the Gospel. There he met Earline who was there preparing as a medical missionary. They fell in love, (that was God's way of making this union) and were married Aug. 22, 1939. Their wedding dinner consisted of bologna sandwiches, RC cola, and Moon pies. He was in revival meeting and she played the pump organ. Their lives together have been given to the Lord's work, for 64 years they served together before her death on May 13, 2003. Both rejoiced in their privilege to serve God and His remarkable blessing on them. Both agreed they had an extra ordinary life as well as an unusual life together. He began writing as a child and continued during the high school years. As a freshman in college, with God's glory in view, Biblical research of and study replaced the fancied-dreamy thinking. The things learned went on paper, and for the first unrequired writing was about the 10 days surrounding the crucifixion and resurrection of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Ten Eventful Days) During the early pastoral years, because of the people's need for Biblical truths he continued to write. Writing began in earnest and in larger (volume) when he began teaching in Bible College in 1957. This was done for his own and the benefit of the students. He has published over 50 books and pamphlets. He holds earned and honorary Doctor of Theology and Divinity Degrees from several colleges. Carl was the happiest when he was studying or proclaiming God's Word. He never met a stranger without telling them about his Lord. He has been a teacher for many years to students all over the world, thru colleges, and his writings. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Army. He was honored to be the pastor of Home Acres (Marananatha) Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, MI; Dripping Springs Baptist Church, Olmstead, KY; Beech Grove Baptist Church, Crab Orchard, KY; Seventh Street Baptist Church, Cannelton, IN; (Associate Pastor) Ashland Avenue Baptisth Church, Lexington, KY; Pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Grant County, KY; and Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Richmond, KY. Professor Tri-State Baptist College, Evansville, IN; Professor Lexington Baptist College, Lexington, KY, Professor and Dean Cincinnati Baptist College and Schools, Cincinnati, OH; Founder and President of Kentucky Mountains Baptist Schools, Booneville, KY.
