Upchurch, Bertha Taylor
Booneville, KY – Bertha (Taylor) Upchurch, age 93, widow of Herbert Upchurch, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. Bertha was born in Whitley City, KY on October 13, 1918, a daughter of the late James Anderson and Loretta (Swain) Taylor. She was a home maker, enjoyed quilting and working in the garden, a member of the Elk Lick Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She is survived by 2 daughters; Margaret (Ronald) Reynolds of Booneville, KY, and Lois (Duane) Mounce of Selmer, TN, 4 grandchildren; Rhonda Wise, Kevin Mounce, Steven Mounce, and Jill Sams, 12 great grandchildren, and 3great great grandchildren, along with many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 36 years, 1 son; James Upchurch, and 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY at 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2012 with Pastor David Combs officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Bertha will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Shepherds Memorial Cemetery located in Booneville, KY.
